You can add plain text annotations to your documents and view them in the Document
Browser. Text Note annotations are useful for adding comments, explanations or definitions
to selected text in a document. Text Note annotations do not affect your original
files. To add a Text Note annotation:
- With a document open in the Document Browser, select Edit > Annotate > Text Note, press [CTRL-T] on your keyboard, or click the
Attach Text Note button. - The mouse pointer turns into a marker.
Move the marker to the place where you want to insert the text note, and click once.
The Text Note window opens.
- Type the text you would like to add. Your annotation may be up to 32kb in size.
The buttons on the window perform the following functions:
- Icon - choose an icon to mark the location of the annotation in the document.
The default icon will be displayed to the left of the Icon button. Change the icon
by clicking the Icon button and selecting a new icon from a list.

have selected an existing annotation. See Deleting
Annotations for more information.
- OK - save your text and close the annotation window.
- Cancel - cancel the addition of the annotation and close the annotation window.
Click OK.
The annotation will be added to your document, with the chosen icon indicating its
location.
